🚊 Public Transit

The South Waterfront campus is well served by public transit. All options below stop within a short walk of KCRB. Use TriMet.org or the Transit app to plan your trip.

Portland Streetcar

All Portland Streetcar lines serve the South Waterfront. The S Bond Ave & Gibbs St stop is directly in front of KCRB. Streetcars run frequently throughout the day from downtown Portland and the Lloyd District.

MAX Light Rail

The MAX Orange Line provides direct light rail service to South Waterfront. Board at Portland City Center stations and ride to the South Waterfront/SW Moody Ave stop, a short walk from KCRB. The Orange Line connects to all other MAX lines and runs to Milwaukie and Clackamas.

TriMet Bus

Several bus routes serve the South Waterfront area:

• FX2-Division — limited-stop service
• Route 9 — Powell Blvd
• Route 17 — Holgate/Broadway
• Route 19 — Woodstock/Glisan
• Route 35 — Macadam/Greeley
• Route 40
• Route 291 — Orange Night Bus (evening service)

Portland Aerial Tram (from Marquam Hill)

The Portland Aerial Tram connects the main OHSU Marquam Hill campus to the South Waterfront in five minutes. The South Waterfront tram station is a 6-minute walk south of KCRB along S Moody Ave. The tram connects with TriMet bus, light rail, and Portland Streetcar at the South Waterfront terminal.

🚗 Driving Directions

From Downtown Portland

Head south on SW Harrison Street, cross S Naito Parkway, and turn right onto S Moody Avenue. KCRB will be on your left.

From I-405 (from the north or west)

Take exit 1C toward S 6th Avenue, then proceed south to S Moody Avenue.

From I-5 North / Northeast

Take exit 299A toward Lake Oswego / Macadam Ave. Follow South Waterfront signs to S Macadam Avenue, then turn onto S Curry Avenue to reach S Moody Avenue.

From Highway 26 West

Take the S Market Street exit, cross S Naito Parkway to S Harbor Drive, turn onto SW Harrison Street, then right onto S Moody Avenue.

Several parking options are available near KCRB. Note that parking is not free — transit is strongly encouraged.

✈️ Coming from Out of Town

By Air — Portland International Airport (PDX)

PDX is served by most major carriers. The easiest transit connection to South Waterfront is:

1. Take the MAX Red or Blue Line from the airport to Pioneer Courthouse/SW 6th Ave or another downtown station (~40 min).
2. Transfer to the MAX Orange Line southbound to South Waterfront/SW Moody Ave (~10 min).

Rideshare and taxi services are also available at PDX. Allow approximately 20–30 minutes by car to South Waterfront (traffic dependent).

By Train — Amtrak (Portland Union Station)

Portland Union Station (800 NW 6th Ave) is served by Amtrak's Coast Starlight, Empire Builder, and Cascades routes. From the station, take the Portland Streetcar A or B Loop southbound to the South Waterfront (~20 min), or take a short rideshare.
